Baptism is important experience in the life of every Christian. For us at FBC, it is the way a person shows they have made a personal decision to become a disciple of Christ and to proclaim that by following His example in baptism by emersion.
There is nothing magical or supernatural that happens when a person is baptized. It is simply the way to signify that you are choosing to allow Jesus to be your Savior and Lord. By doing so, you are also making the choice to become a member of the local body of believers called First Baptist Church of Leland. Finally, it is a picture of what happens when we surrender our lives to Jesus Christ - that we are buried with Him in baptism and raised to walk in newness of life.
