Purpose:

FBC is seeking an experienced Children’s Minister to join a passionate team of ministry staff to build an impactful ministry within a growing church and community.

Children’s Ministry:

Create and/or maintain a robust and holistic ministry for children birth - 5 th grade to include:

• Flagship ministry gathering focused on evangelism and discipleship weekly through the school year
• Sunday School
• Summer camps
• VBS
• Community outreach
• Fellowship events
• Fundraisers as needed
• Recruit, train, and empower a ministry specific volunteer team comprised of adult members of FBC.
• Recruit, train, and schedule childcare workers for Sunday mornings and any additional programming as assigned. (nursery/PreK)
• Build relationships with children and parents.
• Promote ministry to potential children and adults.
• Maintain clear and constant communication with children, parents, and volunteers
• Be prepared in advance of all ministry events/meetings.
• Arrive early (prior to children) for all ministry events/meetings.
• Prioritize Southern Baptist curriculums, camps, speakers, and materials. (seek approval for non-SBC)

Administrative Duties:

• Report directly to the Executive Pastor and Senior Pastor
• Keep the Executive Pastor and Senior Pastor up to date on ministry plans and outcomes.
• Come prepared for weekly staff meetings
• Ensure ministry plans/needs are communicated in a timely manner to appropriate office staff for distribution to the church (bulletin/slides/etc.)
• Submit completed purchase orders (PO) in a timely manner.
• Follow all policies of the church.
• Maintain sufficient office hours to accomplish the above expectations.
• Communicate availability regularly and clearly to office staff, Executive Pastor and Senior Pastor.
• Contribute to a peaceful work environment

Purpose:

The Student Ministry Intern will support the FBC staff and Student Ministry volunteers by engaging with middle and high school students (grades 6-12), helping plan weekly gatherings, and building a supportive community.

• Demonstrate love for the church, the community, and the ministry.

Qualifications:

• Education: Currently enrolled in college, seminary, studying ministry or a related field
• People Skills: A strong desire to listen, encourage, and communicate well with your people, adult volunteers, and staff
• Teachable Spirit: A humble attitude and willingness to learn new leadership skills

Student Ministry Responsibilities:

Assist the staff and volunteers to create and/or maintain a robust and holistic ministry for students grades 6-12 to include:

• Flagship ministry gathering focused on evangelism and discipleship weekly through the school year (Sunday PM)
• Sunday School (Sunday AM)
• Summer camps/Weekend retreats
• Ministry/Mission opportunities for students
• Fellowship events (6-12 per year)
• Build relationships with students and parents
• Maintain clear and constant communication with staff and volunteers
• Be prepared in advance of all ministry events/meetings
• Arrive early (prior to students) for all ministry events/meetings
• Prioritize Southern Baptist curriculums, camps, speakers, and materials

Time Commitment:

• The initial internship is for 1 semester and is renewable each semester if mutually agreed upon by the intern and the Senior Pastor.
• The intern would be required on church campus each Sunday.
• Additional time would be needed for summer months.

Compensation:

• Monthly stipend of $1000 September-May
• Monthly stipend of $2000 June-August (requires additional time for camps and events)
• The intern will also be eligible to apply for an FBC ministry scholarship
